About Us - Dinner table with autumnal salad, wine glasses and figs

Our Ethos

We want to provide a space where you can shop for beautiful things in a way that’s mindful of our planet, and kind to the people on it. Sustainability, for us, doesn’t just mean caring for the natural world around us — we’re committed to the employment, nurture and fair opportunities of the individual beings who work on each and every level of production.

We carefully source our products from independent designers, mostly in the UK and Europe, and always try to collaborate with local makers before searching further afield. Most of our products are made in small production runs by independent artisans, and where larger manufacturers are involved, we ensure that they adhere fair and transparent working practices and do not use sweatshops, trafficking or forced labour.

We’re constantly working to reduce our impact on the planet, and exclusively work with brands who are doing the same. All of our packaging is recyclable and made of recycled materials, or repurposed from deliveries we’ve received.

We hope our customers will look to us for pieces that will stand the test of time, both in their beautiful and unique style and in their quality, and join us in our passionate support of new and emerging brands, small makers, and conscious consumerism.

Lotte and Anna in LAMP LDN shop

Our Story

The LAMP LDN store was created in a magical spur of the moment by Anna McGregor and Lotte Martin, two working mothers who founded a creative events company of the same name. Their company was hit hard by the challenges of the 2020 pandemic and its subsequent lockdowns, and they began to frantically brainstorm what they could do to continue to provide for their families.

During one day in lockdown, Anna passed an empty corner shop in Peckham whilst on the phone to Lotte, and saw that it was up for rent. Lotte dared Anna to find out how much the rent was, and within thirty minutes they’d signed the contract and ordered a huge tub of pink paint to decorate the shopfront.

Fast forward a few years, and Anna and Lotte are living their dream — the LAMP LDN family has expanded to include some of their closest friends, and their little shop is a haven for beautiful and unique things that are mindfully and sustainably sourced, and always with a focus on local, independent and family run businesses.

Through their LAMP LDN store, Anna and Lotte want to help people invest in their home environments and create beautiful, comfortable spaces that are conscious of the world and people around them.

Our Shop

The LAMP LDN shop is a little pocket of colour on a corner in Peckham, tucked away on Maxted Road, just around the corner from the busy bustle of Bellenden Road. We’re delighted to have a little bricks and mortar haven that brings joy and a smile to so many people, whether they’re locals, visitors or just exploring the area.

We’ve filled the shop with eye popping colours and wonderful scents, and our carefully selected stock from our favourite makers is constantly changing.

Meet the Team

  • Anna McGregor

    FOUNDER

Anna was born and raised around the corner from our shop in Peckham, and founded LAMP LDN with her best friend Lotte. They met as students at Central St Martins, and together have worked in events for over twenty years, whether serving pizza from their own van or planning boutique weddings. Anna is a mother to two beautiful children, and when she’s not hitting the gym or prepping family meals she can be found sipping a very cold martini.

  • Lotte Martin

    FOUNDER

Lotte originally studied at Central St Martins and has worked in creative event management for over 20 years. During her studies, she met her best friend Anna, who has since become her LAMP LDN business partner and fellow Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat enthusiast. She now lives in Hastings with her dashing husband and beautiful daughter, and loves a well made sandwich and any kind of Asian food.

  • Alex Tomlinson-Pritchett

    BUSINESS & STORE MANAGER

Alex holds the LAMP family together as manager of each level of the business, and our Peckham shop. He originally trained as an actor, and currently also works as a theatre director. Claudia originally trained at Central St Martins, and manages all of LAMP’s online presence, designing our website and all of our online imagery. Chiara is the assistant manager of our Peckham shop, and all round LAMP LDN wingwoman, managing our relationships with brands and helping stage photoshoots. Anna is our technical wizard and keeps on top of everything to do with the LAMP LDN website, creating listings for new products, checking stock levels and ensuring the smooth running of the site. Anna loves textiles and is obsessed with clothes - she sews in her spare time, and also loves swimming and cooking. Her latest adventure has been joining a football team - go Anna!

  • Ross Tomlinson-Pritchett

Ross writes all of the text for the LAMP website, and sometimes works in our Peckham shop. He’s also an actor and playwright, and the other half of The Singing Husbands with business and store manager Alex. For the last three decades, Ross has listened to only one genre of music - ABBA.
