Musango are a small, family-run business in Hertfordshire, England. Colour is at the heart of everything they make, with all of their ceramics taking inspiration from the plants and wildlife native to South Africa, where the family lived for many years. These large, squat Plain Wash Mugs have a simple but beautiful colour wash design, and are perfect for a comforting drink of just about anything. They are hand made and hand painted by artists in Portugal.

As a small, independently owned business we charge all delivery fees at cost. This price also does not include any packaging costs. We work with small makers, many of whom can’t offer normal retail margins, so we are unable to absorb any shipping costs. We are always looking for new ways to reduce this charge, however we cannot currently do so in such a way that doesn’t impact on the viability of our business.

Musango is the flagship brand of The Handmade Company UK Ltd, launched in 2007 sourcing beautiful and ethically made products that combine contemporary, stylish design with everyday practical living. Developed with skilled and local artisans in Morocco and Portugal each piece is made from stoneware, hand finished and painted.

We are committed to providing a space where you can shop for beautiful products that have been made in a way that is sustainable for the planet and kind to the people on it.
We source our products from independent designers mostly in the UK and Europe. We always look for local (UK based) options before we look further afield. We also try to support new and emerging brands and makers. Most of our products are made in small production runs, by artisans or the designer themselves. Where larger manufacturers are involved we ensure that they adhere a fair and transparent supply chain and do not use sweatshops, trafficked, bonded, child or forced labour.
