Munro & Kerr make each of their lampshades by hand in their local South London studio, using sustainably sourced cork grown in Portuguese forests. The cork oaks are harvested every nine years after reaching maturity, before being replanted, perfect for the environmentally conscious customer. Each cork lampshade provides a wonderfully warm and comforting glow when lit, with a beautiful and colourful trimming made from 100% cotton with a herringbone weave.

Munro and Kerr was founded by Alexandra John in 2017, born out of a passion for marbling, patterns and beautiful interiors, Munro and Kerr offer unique, luxury lampshades that demand a second glance. All lampshades are entirely hand made by Alex herself in the Munro and Kerr studio in London. Each shade is made-to-order to ensure the highest quality finish and attention to detail.

Our Mission
We are committed to providing a space where you can shop for beautiful products that have been made in a way that is sustainable for the planet and kind to the people on it.
We source our products from independent designers mostly in the UK and Europe. We always look for local (UK based) options before we look further afield. We also try to support new and emerging brands and makers. Most of our products are made in small production runs, by artisans or the designer themselves. Where larger manufacturers are involved we ensure that they adhere a fair and transparent supply chain and do not use sweatshops, trafficked, bonded, child or forced labour.
