Melin Tregwynt
Founded in a remote wooded valley on the Pembrokeshire coast, the Melin Tregwynt Mill has been spinning the fleeces of local sheep into yarn since the 17th Century.
Originally a corn mill, records show that it later became a fulling mill. Water from the local stream was used to drive hammers and beat the woollen cloth to clean and soften the fabric. They still weave their cloth in the old whitewashed mill. Traditional skills are still used, preserved and sustained, and will hopefully grow.
Their unique designs draw influence from traditional Welsh weaving, which dates back to the Middle Ages, and the family run business prides itself on the natural sustainability of wool.
