Inspired by traditional folk craft, the origins of patchwork being used reflects a particular focus on sustainability in her work. Premium European duck feather cushion pads used are overstuffed, giving each cushion a luxuriously plump and firm feel.

About Kate Owen
Kate Owen spent her formative years living in the USA, and many of those in a little mountain town in Colorado. Her family emigrated to Bristol where she studied at the RWA before moving to London to study textile design at Central St Martins in 2006. She is based in Peckham, London
As well as being a fabric buyer in the fashion industry Kate creates her own work inspired by early American folk traditions. The origins of patchwork being used to recycle off-cuts of fabric reflects a particular focus on sustainability in her work, and her career as a fabric buyer has given her a keen awareness of the potential for creative use of excess materials.

We also try to support new and emerging brands and makers. Most of our products are made in small production runs, by artisans or the designer themselves. Where larger manufacturers are involved we ensure that they adhere a fair and transparent supply chain and do not use sweatshops, trafficked, bonded, child or forced labour.
