For several years an image of Richard Long’s 1994 “White River Line” has been pinned to the inspiration board in the Rapture & Wright studio. They loved the energy of the line that seemed both abstract and ordered. As they drew version upon version, the results reminded them of some of the Moorish decoration seen in the Alhambra and the direction of travel was set.

About Rapture & Wright
Rapture & Wright are one of the few remaining hand printing studios in the UK and even further one that print by hand. They design and print in Gloucestershire, adapting age-old techniques in clever ways to make fabrics for contemporary and classical tastes. The tools they use are simple and the process has changed little over the years. By adapting these traditional techniques, the ambition is to combine the subtle and personal results of hand production with a flexibility of design, able to satisfy today’s renewed taste for bespoke.
Whilst Rapture & Wright draw upon the artisan traditions of the past, they look to the future by minimising the environmental impact of their print production. Key to these aims has been the development of a ground-breaking, environmentally sustainable print works, allowing them to work within the highest ecological standards.”

ABOUT LAMP LDN:
Our Mission
We are committed to providing a space where you can shop for beautiful products that have been made in a way that is sustainable for the planet and kind to the people on it.
We source our products from independent designers mostly in the UK and Europe. We always look for local (UK based) options before we look further afield. We also try to support new and emerging brands and makers. Most of our products are made in small production runs, by artisans or the designer themselves. Where larger manufacturers are involved we ensure that they adhere a fair and transparent supply chain and do not use sweatshops, trafficked, bonded, child or forced labour.
