As a small, independently owned business we charge all delivery fees at cost. This price also does not include any packaging costs. We work with small makers, many of whom can’t offer normal retail margins, so we are unable to absorb any shipping costs. We are always looking for new ways to reduce this charge, however we cannot currently do so in such a way that doesn’t impact on the viability of our business.
About Loving String
Sarah Harley is the head and hands behind Loving String. Since Spring 2020, Sarah has been single handedly designing and making colourful cotton yarn lampshades from her little home studio in West Dorset. Sarah has an interior design and styling background and before starting Loving String and turning her hand to lampshade-making, she spent more than eight years working out of London on interior projects in homes, shops and hotels up and down the UK. Sarah maintains strong relationships with interior designers and supplies Loving String lampshades for projects worldwide.
ABOUT LAMP LDN:
Our Mission
We are committed to providing a space where you can shop for beautiful products that have been made in a way that is sustainable for the planet and kind to the people on it.
We source our products from independent designers mostly in the UK and Europe. We always look for local (UK based) options before we look further afield. We also try to support new and emerging brands and makers. Most of our products are made in small production runs, by artisans or the designer themselves. Where larger manufacturers are involved we ensure that they adhere a fair and transparent supply chain and do not use sweatshops, trafficked, bonded, child or forced labour.
