About Capdeco
Capdeco was established in 2002 by Phillipe Froment, in Thiers which is the French capital of the cutlery industry and where knives have been made for more than six centuries. Inheritores of the know-how for generations, the Froment family started its business in 1963 in a small workshop created by Philippe’s father: Camille Froment. Originally, the company was only focused on subcontracting in the cutlery industry. The company’s business developed then quickly. Willing to produce and to market a quality finished product and demonstrating his know-how of cutler, Philippe decided to create the Capdeco manufacturer company of flatware.

We are committed to providing a space where you can shop for beautiful products that have been made in a way that is sustainable for the planet and kind to the people on it.
We source our products from independent designers mostly in the UK and Europe. We always look for local (UK based) options before we look further afield. We also try to support new and emerging brands and makers. Most of our products are made in small production runs, by artisans or the designer themselves. Where larger manufacturers are involved we ensure that they adhere a fair and transparent supply chain and do not use sweatshops, trafficked, bonded, child or forced labour.
